I’m a Master student at Technical University of Munich, studying Informatics (Computer Science). My primary focus now is on synthetic biological intelligence, which embodies In vitro neural networks from heterogeneous cell sources into a goal-directed environment. Such a closed-loop dynamic system could harness the inherent properties of neuronal cells to link silicon and BNN systems. I believe, in terms of research, it could lead to a better understanding of neurobiology, advance AI or machine-learning algorithms, and in terms of technique, silico-biological computational platforms could be built upon it.

Before having this particular interest, I was interested in medical imaging processing(esp. fMRI) and business intelligence(data mining on business data) when I did my Bachelor at Tongji University, Shanghai.

My long-standing interest in neuroscience keeps me thinking the possibility that two fields, computer science and neuroscience could learn from each other. It’s facinating for me to work in an interdisciplinary team and do cool things together.
